In cooperation with the U.S. government, the UN and its agencies are on the ground providing much-needed support to the Venezuelan people. Let Congress know you support the U.S.’ partnership with the UN in the region.

As you are likely aware, the situation in Venezuela is rapidly deteriorating with no end in sight.

There are more than 1.5 million Venezuelans currently displaced and the United Nations estimates that thousands are fleeing to neighboring countries each day. Of those who remain, 87 percent live in poverty. Gross human rights abuses are the new norm for the Venezuelan people who fear for their lives every day.

Amid these dire circumstances, the UN and its agencies are on the ground in Venezuela providing a lifeline to people in need thanks in large-part to U.S. support. The World Food Programme, the International Organization for Migration and the UN Refugee Agency are working to help provide food, water, hygiene supplies, shelter, and education and career opportunities for Venezuelans who have fled to neighboring countries.

We cannot forget the people of Venezuela and we cannot forget that the UN remains an invaluable partner in the region.

At this time of important need, will you pledge continued U.S. to support the United Nations and its agencies as they work to provide desperately needed assistance to the Venezuelan people?
