Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ), a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, spearheaded a letter to Senate Appropriations Committee Chair Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Ranking Member Patrick Leahy (D-VT) requesting full FY 2021 funding for the UN and international agencies funded in the “Contributions to International Organizations” account.

In the letter, the members note that now is a critical moment for the world as 193 countries confront COVID-19. While recognizing multilateral institutions are imperfect, in order to meet challenges from pandemics to climate change, the U.S. must continue to honor our financial commitments.
