Tell Congress: Americans Support the UN's Work on COVID, Afghanistan

Year after year, bipartisan polling continues to show that the majority of Americans put their support behind the UN and its work across the globe.

Our latest poll found that found Americans stand firmly behind the UN’s work around the globe, including several crises that confront us today. Can you share the news with Congress?

I am writing today to express my strong support for the United Nations and share some news.

A new bipartisan poll conducted by Hart Research Associates and Public Opinion Strategies – on behalf of the Better World Campaign – found Americans stand firmly behind the UN’s work around the globe, including several crises that confront us today. In regards to the growing humanitarian situation in Afghanistan, 90 percent of Americans across party lines support the UN’s role on the ground by delivering life-saving assistance to millions in need and protecting the rights of women and girls.

Over two years into the COVID-19 pandemic, voters are in agreement that the UN should lead the way in fighting the virus abroad. Specifically, 82 percent of voters – Republicans, Democrats and Independents -stated they support the UN’s role in helping stop the spread of COVID-19 in poor and developing countries.

Perhaps most importantly, you should know that 6 out of 10 voters support the U.S. paying its dues to the UN and UN Peacekeeping on time and in full.

This poll is a clear indicator that my fellow Americans agree on the value of the UN to American interests and I hope that I can count on you.
